Join Dr. John C. Kearney for a brief overview of George Washington's mission, focusing on events that took place within 20 miles of the Shaler North Hills Library. This is when Washington's small group traveled through present-day Pittsburgh on the way up and then back from Fort Le Boeuf near Erie, PA in November and December of 1753.

About the presenter:

Dr. Kearney holds BS and MS degrees from Duquesne University and a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh, serving as an adjunct faculty member at CCAC and the Duquesne University Graduate School of Education. He is a past board member of the North Area Environmental Council and a current board member of the Allison Park Sportsmen's Club.
